Hey all, New to this site but have read a bunch on it. Looking to take my 2 boys on our first ever OTC Archery hunt for Mule Deer this fall and we are targeting the sand hills of Nebraska due to the time of year and access to tags. Do any of you have any recommendation as to if late Sept or early October is a better time to go? Any thoughts on the Sand Hills area, I know i have read that Public Land is limited. Is there opportunities to approach Private land owners or is that not really a option? Lots of questions I have swimming in my head. Thanks

i went there last year. There was a whole lot of pressure and very very little mule deere. However a piss ton of white tails over 120. We shot a 5x5 as the westerners call it whitetail that went mid 150”
I saw two July bucks that would go over 100” and under 120”
I walked 43 miles in 6 days. Awesome country and will go back.
I couldn’t get any bites on private.
