I have a new Savage LRH 7mm Rem Mag I'm setting up and unfortunately I can't find any ammo for it. Going to Colorado in November for my first elk trip and not sure what to do. I check Federal's website daily as I have been told their Premium Nosler Partition in 160 is hard to beat.

If anyone has those or anything else that would work well I would consider it.

Thanks.

I have the same rifle. Shoots under 1/2 inch with Hornady 162 ELDX and I’m currently on the hunt for some more factory ammo. Last time I got some was on Buds Gun shop but it was pricey $2.85 a round. I will try to follow up if I see any as it pops up randomly. Basically I would add 162 eldx to your search as I’m pretty confident you will shoot really well with it with that rifle.

Umm you might look at using a different rifle.. at that price it would probably be cheaper to just go buy a new rifle in a different caliber...Screenshot_20210916-142735_Chrome.jpg

I’ve used 175gr fed fusion and 168gr hsm berger vld as well out of my 7 mag with good success. Other options to consider if available.

Check out Normas new website. They had a bunch of stuff on a discount there recently. Their 150 Norma whitetail load should kill elk just fine.

I have 3 boxes of custom loaded Copper Creek Ammo, 168 Berger VLD, $75 per box plus shipping, or pick up in Idaho Falls, if that helps you out.

I appreciate everyone's responses. Someone pm'd me and told me about a place selling the Nosler 160 AB for $80 a box. Steep but really close to what I was seeing everywhere else for other rounds. Guess my fault for buying the rifle last winter but no ammo until now when my trip is in November. Learned my lesson.

Greyes - How much for the gun and rounds?

You'll probably be very happy with the 7mag hornady precision hunter or the federal fusions. I've owned multiple 7mags and they've shot those 2 very well. I've been seeing them pop up more and more often lately too. Best of luck. Cheers
