Need help pulling the trigger

So I was pretty set on a down quilt from hammock gear, but I'm hesitating. I hunt the Oregon coast with a floorless shelter and it's not uncommon for it to dump rain, even during archery season.

Needless to say, this has me hesitating on going with down.

Now considering a Kifaru Slick Sack, though I like some of the Big Agnes bags that have no insulation on the bottom, and a pouch that holds your pad in place.

Thoughts?

Have you checked out enlightened equipment? They make a synthetic quilt if you're really worried about the rain. If you pitch your tent in the right place you shouldn't be getting rain under your tent.

Even if you keep the rain out, condensation will cause issues with down. The water resistant down works really well, but it isn't totally failsafe. Enlightened Equipment, VI AM and Nunatak all make awesome synthetic quilts. They aren't too pricy either.

I froze once with a wet down bag, have several EE quilts but always take synthetic for wet trips. They remain warm even if wet.
