I am currently looking at re-barreling my Weatherby Accumark Mark V. It’s currently a 7mm rem mag but I’m looking to do a 6.5Prc. My current set up is a 7prc. Doing 6.5prc for my dad to shoot.

Question I have is, if anyone has done this can my original weatherby stock work? If so what contour barrel should I do? I’m looking at most likely doing a 1:7.5 twist. Most likely 22” with break. I am looking at Carbon6 since they prefit for my weatherby.

Lastly, I may look at doing a peak 44 bastion stock if needed.

Thanks for the help!

Your current stock will work just fine. The barrel contour depends on how heavy you want it. What most places call a #2 is what most full size standard sporter rifles use. A #3 is like what many companies call a magnum sporter profile. #4 is pretty heavy, and a #5 is like a typical varmint weight gun has.

Im not positive on this, but you may need a slightly wider magazine because the prc body is thicker than the 7 mag. I’ve heard some guns work fine with a belted mag magazine and some don’t.
