Ok- so just got back from 3 days of walking some area I identified via e-scouting. 20+ hour drive from Bama……it was a great trip. However, need some help understanding what I saw.

1- found old wallows and snapped over smaller trees from last year or before and what appears to be fresh rubs in 6-10” diameter trees, not low to the ground like a deer, I mean, they look fresh!

isn’t it too early for rubs? Someone school me on this……is this something other than elk? Maybe I am to accustomed to Alabama whitetail, but seems very early…….thanks for the help.

Yep, that's bear. Wallows are a good sign, did you find any rubs that looked like last summer?
