Nemo Disco 15 thoughts

Anyone have reviews on the Nemo Disco 15/30? I’m a side sleeper and I’m debating between this bag or a quilt.

I did. Most were about the Riff. Just looking for some long term thoughts. Also interested in buying maybe a used bag or quilt. I can’t post in the classifieds until I get three more posts, so I guess I’m still stuck in the research phase.

I have been looking for a 15 riff at a good price. Both the riff and disco look like very good bags, roomy and good materials. The gill vents are interesting. Please do a review if you get one.

I got the disco 15 last year to use in CO on a backpack hunt. I really like the bag. Enough room to be comfortable but not huge either. Plenty warm for early season camping at about 10.5k. Compression sack that comes with it will compress it down to nalgene size.

Had one, sold it. It was very comfortable down into the upper-30's(15 rated) for me. Below that I was layering up pretty heavily. The shape is legit, the ratings are not.

I have an older similar model of this bag without the gill vents. I was comfortable in my briefs in low to mid 30's but my feet did get a little chilled, but not uncomfortable. I think a pair of socks would be useful for me in the lower temps, but I had nothing other than my boxer briefs on. I tend to sleep warm. I also used an insulated Nemo pad. I believe my bag is the nocturne 30 but may be the nocturne 15. Either way, the shape is awesome for slide sleeping.

Update: the quilt that my wife sewed up worked great over the weekend. We used a kit from Ripstop by The Roll with Apex 7.5 and the HyperD Diamond nylon.

It got down to 36 degrees F. I was in a hammock with an uninsulated sleeping pad and the only time I got cold was when the hammock touched my skin. But that’s my own fault for using a sleeping pad that’s not made for a hammock.

For people in a budget, I highly recommend going this route. We soent just over 100$.

I would recommend getting the large size instead of regular size. I'm 5'10" and the regular is almost to small in length on my Nemo Nocturne 15. I've heard the same thing from several people as well. Great bags/shape for side sleepers.
