I have a 2p nest for my tipi tent, but currently I've left it off of my pack list for our mid September Elk hunt as I'm not sure I'll have the room for it this time. For those who have hunted the high country, am I ok leaving it behind or should I make room for it somewhere?

For high country archery elk a nest isn’t necessary. Even early season the bugs just aren’t a problem. I’ve camped in what I thought would be very buggy spots but have never had an issue.

It really depends on your comfort level. I dont ever use one here in Colorado at anytime of the year. Seems like a hassle.

Honestly I think the only reason I would want it for is if bugs were bad

On backpack hunts I am always looking for things to leave in the truck rather than carrying on my back! If you have a question about something I would likely leave it behind!
