Nevada Buck Down

[NV HUNTER]

It took 12 years to draw this tag. Me and my good friend scouted 2 days before the opener. We put 350 miles on the truck and saw the entire unit.

We marked this buck on Saturday night. He had 9 does and was on the boarder of 2 units. We saw over 60 bucks and we thought he was the biggest in the unit ( at least what we could turn up).

Watched him until dark on Sunday. We got to our location at 5am and waited until light to turn him up. At 6am we located him. He was 1500 yards. We cut the distance to 600, and crawled to 532.

One shot from the 28 nosler pushing 177 hammer bullets and my wait was over.

Didn't get one with my archery tag but did see a lot of strange folks in Gerlach!

he is right at 80”. No ground shrinkage. The day prior we got video and photos and had him at 77”. His cutters were better and he was longer than we thought. Really a great antelope.

I figured he'd be right around there. It's always nice when they grow as you walk up to them. Beautiful buck!
