new boots

just got my new crispis. love them but they are so stiff. how do you guys break your boots in and what kind of leather wax do you use on them to soften them. thanks

Obenaufs wax is what I use. I try and break mine in with daily use for a few weeks.

Nikwax, not the liquid but the paste. Works wonders. And dosnt delaminate rubber rands.

There gona be stiff, thats what they are designed to be. Just put some miles on them with a pack and that will break them in.

I used obenhaufs on my lowa tibets and had some problems with the rubber rand delaminating at the crease point on the toes. I will use nikwax from now on. One tip I learned from aron snyder on breaking in boots is to wear damp socks, not wet but damp while wearing them. This definatly speeds up break in time.
