New bow new arrows...help me out

I decided to sell my bow a little while back and after some searching I purchased a new Hoyt helix. In the process of waiting for the bow I realized that my current arrows are under spined for my new setup. I want to take this opportunity to up my arrow weight. I have typically shot 27” but I think that might have been a little short because I am toying with 28” and it feels great! So I need some help, I am by no means a professional and I don’t have a ton of experience choosing the “right” arrow. I have been using archers advantage but with my setup I don’t have many choices for arrows, at least according to the software. So right now my setup is 28” dL, 60-70lb. I am looking at Easton fmjs, gold tip kinetics. I am thinking with my short draw if I go with around 450 grains. Anyways, any advice, direction, thoughts etc would be greatly appreciated.

x2 for Axis

I recently got Black Eagle Carnivores and use a brass weight up front and like the setup so far

An Axis 300 with 50 grains of brass and a 100gr head will come in around 475-485 gr depending on wrap and fletching.

Just at scheels to see actually we're my bow is for poundage and weigh my arrows setup.

At 67lbs

Easton axis 5mm 10.7 gpi
Factory fletching and Nock cut to 29in
50g insert
100g point

Weighed 467g on the scale, so I jumped to a 125g point and love the way it shoots

Weird, I have the exact same arrow cut to 26.5 carbon to carbon, and it weighs 480 with a 100 gr point, 505 with a 125. Shorter, but am running 3 x Max Stealth Vanes with a 3.5" wrap....

Are you sure yours aren't 340's / 9.5 GPI? Or, are you sure you have the 50gr brass insert?

Yessir 10.7 gpi 300 spine just went and looked haha and the inserts I know are 50g bc the guy that built them got them off the shelf they were the Easton HIT break offs.

So I am currently shooting exactly what you are looking at. 28" draw, 70 lbs, easton FMJ's cut to 27". right at 450 grains. I use the 340 spline shafts. I do shoot 100 grain points. Never checked the foc, but know it isn't ideal. Also have never had flight issues, or bending issues that people report. I have damaged them for other reasons, but those were operator error. I find no reason to change. I haven't found a reason to change. I still have 9 of the dozen I bought 6 years ago and all are straight to this day.

I'm pretty sure you could easily shoot the Axis 340's even with the 50gr HIT. With 100's they'd come in right around 445-450gr at 28", with 125's almost 475gr.

Thanks all! Went to the shop today and got 3 axis 5 mm match grade. They don’t fletch them so I will be putting some blazers on. I appreciate all the help! I did get the 300s, cut to 28”, 50 grr insert, 100 grain points.

So I picked up my arrows today and I can’t get my points in. First time I have had this problem and I thought it was due to having an adapter ring. I have one arrow that when putting a point in is almost flush. Is it safe to shoot these?

Did they put standard HIT or deep six inserts . If they are deep six the threads are different, you’ll need deep six specific heads

I believe hit. I had them put 50 grains brass inserts in. I was thinking they were a different size. After I posted this I tried my slick tricks and they went in fine.

When they put the hit inserts in they didn't get all the epoxy out of the inside of the shaft so your points don't fit. You'll have to clean it out. I've done that many times with mine.

Check to see if the insert didn’t pull out when they removed the seating tool. The brass inserts have a tendency to do that. They should be about 1/2” deep. If they’re good Put some wax on the ferrule and threads. This will help get the tips go in easier.

I will check this in the morning. What do I do if they pulled out?
