Working on a new build and wanted to see if anyone had any input?
Goal is to have a versatile hunting rifle primarily for elk and larger. I won’t be taking shots past 600 yards.
I already have an action and really just curious what your guys thoughts are for barrel length, twist and bullets.
My thoughts:
Caliber: 30-06 Springfield
Action: Remington 700 LA
Rem/Age Build
Barrel Profile: Heavy Sporter
Barrel Length: 22”
Barrel Twist: 1:10
Bullet: I was leaning toward trying the Hornady 178gr ELD-X.
I was thinking about throwing that into an AG Composites stock and calling it a day. Should be around 9-9.25 lbs with NXS scope.
