New Colt AR-15 EPR Question

Anyone picked up one of these recently?
This is my first AR-15 so bear with me. I just walked with it today.
I noticed the hand guard, on my NIB EPR, looks like the hand guard on the Trooper.

Less vent holes and no attachment points for the sling.

If they did change production their website doesn't reflect the change.

I'm going to reach out to them, to see WTF, is going on.
