What do you think is the best time to be in Newfoundland for moose?

If you are hoping for calling success/hunting the rut late September to mid October, if you can get the weather to cooperate. You want low winds, cloudy nights, cool days and no fog or heavy rain. Before or after the rut its mostly cruising/glassing food sources and travel corridors between those and bedding areas to spot one a stalk can be put on.
Moose on Newfoundland were introduced there from a handful captured here in New Brunswick and I have witnessed first hand bulls still fighting and breeding cows into November most years so calling success after the rut is always a possibility.

October. But it's all weather depending. If October is warm then you can push it a little later. But lots of people get their moose earlier and later all the same.
