I've searched the internet high and low for anyone else talking about this and have found nothing. I've learned a lot on here so I figured the least I could do is share something. The same evening Maven listed their new patriotic series, I believe they accidentally posted their new B1.2 and B6 binoculars. These couldn't be accessed through the optics page or even google. They only showed up under bundles and now only show up under a link I sent to my friend. Strangely they are eligible to be purchased right now. The B1.2 features a wider FOV, larger prism, better coatings, and all in a more compact, lighter package. The B.6 is a B1 with the larger prism and 50mm lenses instead of 42. I was going to buy a pair of B1s but I believe I might hold off. What do you guys think about them?

Found the pages. Yep, looks like they're getting ready to release some new products. Interesting info on the spec sheets. Something to take a look at when they're ready to start pushing them.

If I were in your shoes and sold on Maven, I'd wait a bit. There's enough changes here that I think they're worth the wait.

Their products optically are excellent, size and bulk has always been only drawback for me. This is interesting.

Does the link still work? Would you be willing to PM it? I am very interested in the B1.2's.

I e-mailed Maven and got a crazy quick response. Looks like they are going to try to have demos available in about a month.

Yeah looks like they are live on the website now. I wonder how long until they have some in the demo program.
Demo program is not worth it. You have to pay shipping and refunds take time. Better off ordering on Amazon Prime for free shipping and quick turnarounds

The light transmission and FOV stats on the B6 12's vs Swaro EL 12's compare pretty nicely.

And now I'm conflicted as to what to buy with this new product release. I had my eye on 8x42 form factor (lots of low level light, wide Field of View, easier to hold steady).

B1 originals at $675 for 8x42 are a great deal as they are now $225 off their recent price.
Tract 8x42s are on sale on this forum by Shortmag11 for $500.
Specs are quite similar.

And now the new B1.2s are lighter, brighter, and have wider FOV for the same price ($900 for the 8x42)
I think Maven obsoleted their B2 line also with the release of the B6.

So what would you do?
New B1s for $675
New B1.2 for $900
Used Tract for $500

or skip ahead to the 10x50 B6? (I was contemplating 9x45s but that no longer makes sense)

I looked at purchasing the 9x45s for months and finally did it about 3 weeks ago. I hesitated so long because I really wanted a 10x50. I love my B2s but I wish I knew about the b6s coming out earlier.

I don't think that obsoleted the b2. The 9x45 have a wider field of view than the 10x50, with the trade-off of magnication and 3oz. The b2 also has the abbe Koenig type prism which is supposedly superior to the Schmidt pecan. I wish they had a 10x version of the b2
