Here we are the day we have been waiting for:

1st rifle in a great unit for trophy elk...and close to home

1st bow hunt for deer...really jazzed as I have been wanting to draw this deer tag for some bucks I came across.

Good stuff! I'm in a similar boat; elk in the unit right outside of town, deer in a unit I've been wanting to hunt for a while. Fingers crossed for some punched tags!

Really surprised I didnt draw. My 3rd choices were almost gimmes for residents according to the NMDGF. Next year then.
