New Mexico Elk 23 or 2B

Hello all. My brother and I are applying for NM for the first time for archery Elk. Anyone have experience in either of these units? From my research 23 looks like a difficult hunt but would be much closer for us to make the trip where as 2B looks to be better hunting but slightly farther.

One thing worth knowing is that unit 2 is not split into sub units for elk.

You get three choices, so both.

It's a matter of how bad you want to have a tag. The harder unit will have better draw odds, but lower harvest odds.

As a non res neither of the odds are in your favor. And I'd probably recommend not putting in together. Then working towards whoever gets a tags hunt.

I did see that. 2B looks to be the best out of the sub units. I should of clarified that.
