Kicking around a new to me over and under..

Looking at:

Beretta silver pigeon
Rizzini
Browning
Suggestions?

Looking used for an Upland gun, mostly chukar/ huns/ quail/ and the occasional ditch chicken

Thoughts, needs to be light, swing well, not junk.

What do you have and like?

Handle them before you buy. They will have different weighting and feel.

Rizzini is the only one I haven't played with.

I'm partial to the berettas that I've played with.

I trow F.A.I.R in the mix. I really like it, fit me perfectly and handle better that beretta or browning. Do to less popularity can be found at great deal.

I have several Berettas and Browning Citori lightnings. The Berettas look prettier but the Citori Lightning’s point more naturally for me and I shoot them almost exclusively.

They're all nice. As was said earlier, handle as many as you can, some will feel better than others in your hand. Not sure if you're considering older guns or just looking at new, but I'd look at Browning Superposed or a Charles Daly Miroku.

Or just follow your heart and get a Perazzi, I support you.

I prefer the 20 ga Beretta O/U vs Browning 20 ga O/U and have owned both (multiples of the Brownings). Still have the Beretta. It carries better than the Browning and the cast-off in the stock fits me better than the Browning stocks with no or minimal cast-off do.

I definitely prefer 28" barrels vs 26" for a hunting gun out west...huns, chukars, sharptails, pheasants, etc.

Never shot the FAIR or Rizzinni shotguns but they appear to be decent but lesser known guns. As mentioned, find which fits you the best.

Shameless plug for my 20 ga SKB Model 280E that's in the classifieds. Great upland gun. Check it out!

I'm a 20ga guy but prefer auto loaders. The silver pidgeons and citori were always a favorite but CZ makes a heck of a gun for the money as well as Franchi.

20ga Beretta 687 28” tubes.
Every person who has held it said “wow”.
Balances at the pin. Points and swings like lightning.
I tried a LOT of guns, the brownings were nice but felt “chubbier” in my hands. Not as light and lithe IMO.
For the money, it’s hard to beat.
IF you wear any parts out, you can buy them and fix it yourself.
I’ve never regretted the purchase.

I got a stevens 555 a few years ago. Can’t see myself shooting anything else. It’s cheap but shoots well. I got it for hunting southern nm with all the mesquites here I don’t have to worry if it gets a couple scratches here or there

You gotta handle them, for me Berettas and Brownings feel like night and day.. I wouldn’t even consider ownin one of those two.
