New open sight peep option

Finally able to get the sight installed on my Remington UML. First impressions is it’s very nicely made. The inserts supplied should work to suite any needs. My eyesight isn’t the greatest but was still able to see the thin crosshairs. Very low light it may create an issue. I may have the sides or top milled our a bit to gather more light. The round peep along with the round front aperture line up very nicely with each other. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I’ll try and answer.

Yes, especially if you can look through this set up at dusk, with fading light, but when you could still shoot with a fiberoptic.

I would think that having the dot at the center of the crosshairs should help. Could you also determine how much area the dot covers at 100 yards. Thanks

this product is very similar to what i've been using. some hunt article posted guy's setup and virtually everyone uses it (Williams rear peep sight- for your particular gun manufacturer, Marble front ramp, Lyman front globe sight with Lee Shaver inserts). this is basically a bundle of that setup. I had to order parts seperately from midway, brownells, and lee shaver...

not sure what this bundle uses for front ramp - needs to be as LOW as possible or your rear peep will have to be very high. My rear sight is at max height and it is just right on my CVA accura v2.

PS I had to take out aperture for rear peep, leaving a "ghost ring" type peep. My eyes are getting weird focus issues the last few years. this works pretty well but at longer range there is some wiggle room when lining up rear peep image with front globe image. have been lucky enough to be within sixty yards of all shots the last few years so it hasn't been a problem.

If you look at the actual bundle and how it mounts you will see that the front globe mounts directly to the barrel.

Since they have brand/model specific bundles I would assume they tested them and they are setup properly height wise. No need for a front ramp.

This is good news! I called Williams over a year ago asking them what they had that would work on my CVA. They had nothing. The sights that come on the CVA from the factory are pure junk.
I bought the CVA V2 just for Colorado and similar states. Boy was I disappointed with their sights.

I put one on a White Whitetail and the pic shows how low I have to have the rear sight to be on at 100 yards.

I mean when I put my cheek on the stock my sight line looks over top of the rear sight. Seems like the whole sight needs to come up about 3/4 of an inch.

This is the thumb hole stock on the Optima V2. The cheek piece doesn’t sweep down enough to look through the peep...Took the set and put them on my uncles Optima Pro and it works fine.

Anybody have any solutions for this type of stock?

I bought the western precision globe sight last month. I haven't shot it yet, but am happy I bought it. I really like the sight picture. The front globe fits perfectly in the peep hole, which should increase precision.

I have been super busy killing turkeys and working. lol. I have not had a chance to shoot this setup yet.

For anyone that shoots a TC Omega, the sight set won't work as is. Apparently the rear sight will run out of adjustment. You can buy the front globe separately and the FP rear sight though and it should work. They're local to me so I'm planning on picking up a set here soon to try.
