My first ever custom rifle arrived in the mail today, and thought I'd share the results of what started as the HCA Barrel Rokslide group buy.

Obejective was a 9-ish pound rifle that i could do whatever I want with. (And load from mag!) My "One" rifle. The bulk of my hunting is in broken terrain in Southern ID, where shots are typically under 100 or between 300 and 500. I've always loved 300 Win, so opted for another one, and had it throated for 215 bergers, a bullet I loved out of my 30-06.

Action: Kelbly Atlas Tactical w/stock 20 moa rail
Triger: Trigger Tech
Magazine: Wyatts and Hawkins Bottom Metal
Stock: Benchmark Ibex
Barrel: HCA Carbon Killer, 26", 1:9.5 twist
Brake: MBM Beast 4 port
Rings: Warne
Scope: Leupold Vx3i 4.5-14 I robbed off my previous main rifle (7mm Tikka)

With the Wyatts box, and the chamber cut the way it is, even with a 215 jammed in the lands I'll have roughly 0.1" of clearance in the mag.

Total wight before scope and rings was 122.5 oz, total wight with scope mounted was 140.4 oz, or 8lbs 12oz.

Have some federal factory loads to break the barrel in, and will be using fired brass to start working up some 215 bergers with H1000.

Cost was only $41 more than a CA Classic. Can't beat that, Can't recommend Mike at Hell's Canyon Armory enough. Obviously haven't shot the gun yet and the exhaust on the UPS truck isn't even cold yet, but Mike was super helpful and put up with a ton of questions around seemingly every single component. 93795262_544102036527708_7510693539118841856_n.jpg94361087_246150999835250_5908663045424414720_n.jpg94488702_283698552626678_74782699247632384_n.jpg94592394_524863871538291_337816190195859456_n.jpg

Damn dude that thing looks sweet! I dig the pattern on the stock. Judging by the dirt on your scope you use the hell outta your gear. Looking forward to hearing how the load development goes with the 215's.

Sadly that was after I cleaned it off

My wife says my stuff is too expensive and I need to be nicer to it. I say I buy the expensive stuff so I don’t have to.

Hahaha I agree, I feel bad for all the badass rifles out there that get left in the safe

Who makes that stock?
