have no way of finding this out myself atm, so figured I’d ask here. Was looking to order a Tikka 6.5 Creed as a Whitetail rifle as my 06 is brutal on the shoulder. Also considering 243 w 1:8 twist. Does anyone know if they shortened the barrel on these threaded models? About to get my first suppressor and see no reason to get a threaded 6.5 creed w a 24” barrel. Also how long is the 243?

I’m talking about the Basic Stainless lite models. Not compact or blued. Thank you!

They offer various lengths, pay attention to the listings. You can get a 20" 243win 1:8 threaded 5/8-24 for example. There are a few calibers that are offered in ~16" but I'm not sure that 243win is one of them that I've seen so far.

The answer to your questions is here:
That doesn't actually give the USA part numbers so while they list a tikka lite 20" stainless 243win in there it doesn't give a part number useful here to find if they even exist state side yet. Only 20" stainless 243win I've seen so far listed is the hunter model.

I've seen the 20" threaded barrel for sale in stainless, not sure which model it came in (IE might not be one of the cheaper ones).
Are you in the USA?

I found a 243 20” stainless on gunbroker and a 6.5 that is 22”. I wish it was 20” but oh well.

Now to decide on the 6.5 vs 243 for whitetail.

Both 6.5CM and 243 8 twist stainless are available in 20” barrels threaded 5/8 from factory. There is more details to be had though…

Regular stainless T3X 20” 243 8 twist part number is TFTT1525A130F60B

Regular stainless 6.5 CM 8 twist comes with 22” barrel not 20” and part number is TFTT6325A130FA0B

If you want a stainless 20” or shorter 6.5CM you’ll need to go with the CTR or the premium models as I believe all the other stainless models feature 22 and 24” barrels. You can get a regular lite blued in 20” 6.5CM but you mentioned requiring stainless.

As an example, this is stainless then cerakoted 20” 8 twist barrel in 6.5CM threaded 5/8”. JRXTRFLS382

I contacted eurooptic and they told me the 243 was 22” and the 6.5 was still 24” but gunbroker and Sako website says they’re 20” and 22”, so I’m not sure if he just looks on europtic website which seems to have the barrel lengths from the pre threaded models.

Also, searching those part number. I can’t find anything. Unless they’re not on the market yet, or are taking their time hitting the market in the USA.

Those are Tikka, imported now under Beretta USA, part numbers and either are available or will be available soon from distributors.

So you have the “older” Veil, Wideland, and Ember models that have come with 8 twist 5/8” threaded D18 profile barrels for years now. These are stainless guns that are cerakoted. You can get 8 twist 243 20” barrel threaded 5/8” in that now. Shortest you can get 6.5CM in that is 22” or 24” I can’t remember.

You also have the “older” CTR model that comes in stainless and 20” barrel for 6.5CM. These take different bottom metal and magazines just FYI.

The newer T3X Lite stainless models are still coming to the states as we speak and come with standard lite profile barrels that have been flared at the muzzle to allow 5/8 threads. You will see a 20” 243 and a 22” 6.5CM land here before too long.

Are you hinting at a stainless 20” 6.5 creed being available in the near future?

good deal.

Now to the next question. 243 or 6.5 creed? Strictly whitetail. I don’t reload (yet).

I contacted eurooptic
Blued 243 is listed in stock at 20". Stainless is hunter model back ordered (and more expensive).

and

It is as a rough tech (which I believe is stainless under the cerakote) already.
I do not want a cerakoted model. I want the basic lite stainless that can be had for around 750 If you look around. But it seems the new threaded stainless 243’s are 20” but the creeds are 22”.

I hadn't seen the basic lite stainless threaded 20" in the market here, I reported what I had seen (only saw the hunter model I already posted). If you already have found them great.
