So I'm new to the forum. Im a Nevada native and hunt muley's, antelope, chuckar, and snow cock. I put in for my first elk this year also.. I wanted to post a big thanks to Aron Snyder for his help today on the phone and gettin me squared away on my new bikini and highcamp 7000. I also ordered a gun bearer and grab it with horizontal lash kit.
Any other suggestions on elk gear or kifaru accessories? Ive got great boots. A kelty gunnison tent. My boom stick in 30'06, new bowtech assassin. I need a stove, new skinning and game processing tools, bags etc. No idea on broad heads/archery gear as this is my first year bow hunting... Anyway I'm looking to get to know you all and learn a lot. If anyone is in the Reno area let me know. .

Welcome. A warning should be said, this forum will cause you to spend excess amounts of cash. Haha. Congrats on the elk tag and starting bowhunting. It's a rewarding passion.

Welcome quikstryke glad too have you here. I live in Yerington so maybe can meet up in Reno sometime. You should look at havalon knifes and tag bags or caribou bags they work great for me as for broad heads I like the monotecs fixed blades and Easton axis 300 arrows. Shoot me a pm if when ever you want

Welcome! I live in Reno.... For a stove if you don't need it right away I would wait til June 8th for the Reno, REI Garage Sale and pick up a jetboil, I got one there last time for $35.00 that was basically brand new... as for game bags I would take a look at TAG bags.

I would look at the rokslide kill kit as well. I don't have one but that is pretty much what I made myself right before they came out. Would have saved a few bucks had I waited. Maybe get a few more tags bags and you should be GTG. I have a jetboil and love it. I also have a SOTO odr-1 and love that too. If money wasn't an option I would get a jetboil TI cup and a SOTO odr-1 stove.

For broad heads I would check out the slick tricks. They are basically flying razor blades that are tough as nails. I switched to them a few years ago after having issues with the montec g5s.

Im no specialist by any means but I have tried a few different things in regards to some of the stuff you mentioned. I now use the following and can give it a great review...

Game bags and processing knife: Look at the kill kit on here. I dont have that exact one but pretty much the same thing with caribou game bags because thats what I had.

Stove: I love my snow peak stuff. Snow peak gigapower and snow peak 700 ti pot. So light and it all pack up together in smaller lighter package than a jetboil.

Broadheads: If you like expendable’s I shoot and love an expandable called EPEC. Company from here in utah. Awesome rear deployment big cutting diameter broad head. Shoots just like a field point. The new models have less noise and improved durability. I have never hunted elk with a bow or maybe I would suggest a fixed blade for those big boys.

Im hopeful it will get some blood on it. Last year was a bust in terms of big game as a 70sq mile wildfire killed our deer spot we've been hunting for the last 50 yrs.. upland birds were decent and the ruby marsh bass and trout were a blast..This year im hoping to draw at least one of the 4 tags we put in for..
