Got him in Iowa. Unfortunately, I stuck a monster in the shoulder two days prior. Felt good to put this one down quickly, though he made it pretty easy for me. Six yard shot, 40 yard recovery, fell in sight.

Awesome buck! Did the monster buck stuck in the shoulder make it through season?
I wish I knew. The evidence suggests a decent chance of survival, but we didn't see him again during the 12 days we were there afterward.

I got this trail cam photo of him about 15 seconds before the shot. The photo does no justice to the beam length or spread.
