I like the beefiness and battery life of the DSLR and went Canon. I started with a T6i and ran it for a few years. I upgraded to the 80d and have a sigma 17-50 f/2.8. For what I do, mostly photo and some video, it is a good balance and I decided against full frame, mainly due to the cost of glass. Not the lightest rig, but the battery life beat the pants off my brother’s Sony while we were in WY last year. I bought mine refurbished through the Canon website and have had no problems with it.

Lots of people I have talked to are running the Sony A6000.
Also a good small camera that takes great footage and has good zoom is the Sonyrx1000.
