Newfoundland Tick Spray or Water Proofing spray

I understand you can't use both, Permethrin & water proofing spray at the same time. They counteract each other. What would you use in Newfoundland ?

I guess it all depends on when your trip is. It was not an issue the first of October when I went. Everything was already dead from the frost, ice and snow.

Hunted the 2nd week of the season last year, and we all took our bulls. Saw no reason for using permethrin.
Did see the reason for excellent rain gear, as I have on every early season hunt I've made to NL.
