Just started shooting a Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42 with the illuminated IHR reticle. Mounted on a new Barrett Fieldcraft 30-06. Great shooting rifle + scope combo. I'm a little confused about the NF illumination though. It seems that their illumination intensity is designed for use in low light conditions? I can not get the illuminated reticle's intensity to the point where I can see it in broad daylight, the reticle remains straight black. I've changed batteries 2x and made sure I'm not in the IR mode. No problem seeing the reticle illuminated in low light or indoors, but it's just straight black in daylight. Wondering if this is the way it's supposed to work? I'm used to my various illuminated Leupold VXRs and Leica Geovid HDR binos that illuminate the reticle (dot in the Leupold reticle) clearly in any type of sunlight. Appreciate any insight/advice. Thank you.
