NM Unit 34 Elk Early October?

I am hunting unit 34 on private land - rifle in early October. Those of you that have hunted this area, what is it like that time of year, weather wise. And what should I expect for the Elk, are they still bugling and rutting?

It can get down to freezing at night but it's not terribly cold. The elk are everywhere and should still be rutting at that time. It should be a fun hunt.
