No muzzle device

Does anyone run no muzzle device on their 5.56 for predator hunting? I am throwing together a 5.56 AR for coyote and I have a barrel laying around but it isn't threaded.. It will probably never see a suppressor because of the state I live in.

is this an issue for predator hunting or will it be ok. Thank you.

I had a 20" 223 wylde and 24" 204 ruger barrels with no muzzle device. No downside just a bunch quieter

Probably not needed. I have a flash hider on my AR platforms (all .223/5.56) only because of the role they play, and get some rough use during training, etc. Primary function is to protect the muzzle/crown. Shorter barrels might have more of a flash signature without a muzzle device and possibly more muzzle jump which would make it harder to get back on target for follow-up shots.

I run a 18" heavy barrel on my AR no muzzle device or threading of any kind. IMO zero benefit besides maybe protecting the crown/end of the barrel...but I put electrical tape over mine so snow and ice doesn't get in.
