First day calling for a friend called in 2 dandy 6s just inches and one would be dead for a shot and both came in hot aNd heavy to bugling or devil wind better🤙Practiced calling a lot this year 10 practice bugles and 2 miles in and here they came🥰see if you can see his brow tines at about 45 yds as he came in filming with iPhone …..funny part 2 hrs later guy hearing action comes in looking for my bugle saying there were bullls all over in here🤣yes there were and the one who got them talking was old man with a little bugling experience🤣🤙

Now we know your secret. Apparently it just takes a gallon of Carlo Rossi to get the elk to like your calling.

I have been around them quite a bit. I worked in the bob and spent a lot of time near Cody. How’d you stumble on that den?

Scouting muleys in a bad hell hole I shouldn't of been wandering around in. Perfect location for a den though, miserable area to get to, high elevation, great food source (grass and hucks like crazy).

Funny story, gave a fella a ride last year who was bear hunting and his rig broke down, and on the drive down the mountain, he showed me pics on his phone of that exact den and a grizz.

That 6 is a good bull. I’ve found a bunch of wallows this fall I’d love to hang a treeestand on but I don’t think I’m tough enough for the 3 mile brush choked hike to put one in

I've got elk all over my camera's as well, even a few nice whitetails. Getting eyes on one in daylight is TOUGH. I have been down at the house a day helping with the baby and back up on the mountain a day and a half on a rotation since season started. About to head back out before noon. Keep us updated.

Y'all were right about the raingear. I bought the new KUIU Chugach TR and it is amazing stuff so far. Very impressed with how dry I am able to stay even while hiking in the rain. It was spendy but buy once cry once right?

Got out for my unit 1 deer hunt…anyone looking to test gear for durability and extremes of cold rain and a serious mixture of all with lots of flat ground and tons of animals go there🤣🤙lots of climbing and fun with a good friend…this buck was running does hard on the 9th so I said hello🤙For anyone looking for added warmth look to puffy pants used them several days in the teens while buddy shivered….woukd say they add another 10-20% warmth and will help your feet as well…
