Maybe you can save me from my own boredom. Lol. There’s a GREAT deal over on 24hr right now. .270 win (appears unfired) Mountain Ascent dropped into a regular Montana stock. Right around $1000.

Cabelas also has their subalpine, MA, and Barrera on sale last I looked.

I would go with the 308 myself. In the middle of nowhere BC can you find ammo for the 300 WSM? If there is a store about, I'll bet it has 308, 30-06 and 270 if it sells anything. Another thing to consider, 4+1 in the 308 Montana or 2 maybe 3 +1 in the 300 WSM. At close range another 300 fps isn't going to matter but another round of ammo might.
Just my 2 cents.

thanks for the input guys. I picked up my Montana in 300wsm today. I felt this would be great from grizzly - deer. I wanted to go with a smaller caliber , but the little bit of extra power makes me feel a bit better when alone in the mountains.

Looks like il have another excuse to get another rifle in the future =p
