Nosler E-Tip Performance?

Anybody have any experience with Nosler E-Tips? I've always known Nosler to make a pretty damn lethal round but I've never tried there copper lead-free offerings. I just got a 7mm08 and was researching the best loads and cartridges for it

I tried them in a 25-06 on deer last year. This was at 426 yards, quartered towards me and went through the shoulder and bullet was sitting just inside the hide in front of the rear ham. Ideally I'd like to see it mushroom a bit more, but thats reaching the extent of that guns energy too. Obviously was very lethal. Keep the speed up and if they shoot good they will work well!

Nosler factory 7mm08 140 grain E-tip ammo chrono’d 2,780 out of my 7mm08. Shot this cow elk at 370 yards, the bullet went through slightly quartering away and buried itself in the Wyoming hillside.

I’ve used 85gr in my 6.8SPCII. Pass throughs and blood trails. Worked well at over 200 yards. 6.8 looks a bit different now.

I used the 150gr 308s on a cow elk and Muley buck this year. 3 pass throughs. The cow stumbled about 10 yards downhill and fell. The buck was drt.

I remember seeing a video on youtube where a guy did a ballistics gel comparison on E-tip, GMX, TTSX & LRX.
IIRC, the GMX faired the best for him, followed closely by E-tip.

I use them in my Nosler Custom M48 .270 WSM. The standard Nosler ammunition chronographs out of my 24” light barrel at 3220 fps, which is 20 fps faster than advertised. They shoot between 1/2 and 3/4 MOA. I used one to take a large scimitar horned bull oryx at about 150 yds. It was probably the most perfect broadside shot I have ever been presented, and the round punched right through the center of the near-side shoulder, transacted the chest cavity and turned everything in there into soup, and was recovered just under the hide on the off-side shoulder. The oryx ran about 40 yards after being hit and piled up. Expansion was perfect, and clearly the bullet delivered all of its energy into the animal’s vitals. All around, a stellar round.

I did my own testing on TTSX similar to the video. 150 grain TTSX (0.308). I concluded impact velocity > 2200 fps had very good opening. In the 2000-2199 fps range I had some open really nice and some barely opened. It was somewhat random leading me to conclude in that range I was right on the cusp minimal impact velocity for GOOD opening. I did testing down to 1800-1900 fps range and the tip would open but barely.

Based on my testing, I keep impact velocity > 2200 fps for Barnes which still gets me to 400 yards on my 30-06 and 590 yards on my 300 WM (175 grain LRX) which is plenty for me.

I understand gel is the gold standard for comparison but I didn't have any gel. My results closely correlated with what others have posted/documented with gel. Hide I simulated with 4 layers of denim, then 2" wood, then water jugs to collect the bullets. All shot close range with reduced loads thru Magnetospeed.
