Reading the regs and trying to be sure I'm 100% aware of the rules by the time I head out.

It says if I'm in possession of any part of the animal the tag must be with it, I always assed the tag was affixed to the animal immediately.

So my question is, what is the tagging procedure? The hunt will be for antlered muley, so notch tag wrap in tape around antlers or around the part that has sex organs?

I'm guessing I'm overthinking it a bit but would rather ask a dumb new guy question then do something stupid later.

I don’t hunt NV but went and read the refs, here’s my interpretation;

Attach tag before moving carcass, keep tag with head until processed then keep with meat in the freezer. If you have to make multiple trips to get the animal out, take head and as much meat first leaving proof of sex with a hindquarter for last trip.
That’s how I do it in MT and UT and how I did it 50 yrs ago in NV. Just make sure you validate the tag and try not to overthink it.
