Hawkins shipped my new, high, hybrids today so I’ll update and end this thread next week when I get it all set up.
Going back through this thread I couldn’t help but notice that a lot of guys aren’t mounting the hybrids correctly. The undersides of the bases are labeled front and back but they also have an arrow on them which should be pointed toward the muzzle. I’ll attach a pic for comparison purposes but with 25 MOA built into this system, there’s no way you’re taking advantage of that without proper mounting.
Your rifle is more than likely a short action like my rifle was. If it’s a long action the front base is switched. But yes you are correct. The underside of the base tells you the orientation.

Be careful about mounting scopes too close to barrel. The barrel will move and can strike the bottom of the scope.

I will say I am seeing more folks mount their scope higher to get their eyes up. I know it's weight but adding a cheek riser isn't the end of the world for getting proper fit up.

If you can slide a piece of paper under it you are good. The barrel doesn’t move that much.

The new hybrids came in yesterday. I got the scope mounted and the highs did the trick. If they made a .55 medium, that would’ve probably been perfect. Thanks to Hawkins for having great CS and getting these out to me ASAP. Hopefully I’ll get time to shoot it this week.
