zero effect other than you can shoot two practice shots and be deadly out to 100 yards versus having to practice for years to even think about being deadly at 50.

Certainly, the crossbow is more effective for shots out to 50-60yd, but most people aren't shooting $3k crossbows out to a hundred, at least not the people that I know have them. I have a cheap $300 one setup for my kids, but only out to 50.

I think people are putting too much emphasis on the crossbow's effectiveness and forgetting that you still need to hunt and be capable of finding and getting close to animals, and the majority of those who go out and just grab a crossbow aren't putting in the work needed to be more effective than bow hunters.
