Do you saddle hunt? Been run n gun with rock climbing harness, 10lb hang on and muddy sticks with aiders on each for the last 7 years or so.

Just made a set of sticks that will be under 6lb for 4, should get me to at least 17'.

Been wanting to try saddle but my only concern has been with all day sits, thinking it would be miserable in a saddle.

Anyone have insight?

Just getting into it, so not a ton of insight. Figured I would try it out this year during the early elk season.

More comfortable than you think though. I also prefer to stand than sit.

The best way to do it for me was to use my Lone Wolf Hand Climber seat as a climbing foot platform; no sticks, no aiders, no additional platform needed. You just need a fairly clean tree. You can get around limbs by hanging from your rock harness but it takes a little effort. I even bought (generic) Stepp ladder steps and built an XOP seat lock-on platform (similar to the pic) with standoff brackets and Amsteel rope but I never use it. If anyone is interested I'll sell that stuff cheap.
