Opinions on wood stoves in canvas tents

I recently purchased a kodiak 10x14 flexbow for car/family camping. I'm considering all my options as far as a stovejack and stoves as I've become very accustomed to having a stove with me in my cimarron. Based on all your opinions I bought a lite outdoors xl and never looked back for my ultralight tent. Those with experience with not so lightweight gear could you please chime in and reccomended a wood stove including brands and sizes that may work for my setup. Not only am I looking for the heat aspect but I want the ability to cook. Iij cant wait. To hear some suggestions. Thanks in advance guys

I’ve been running a cylinder stove brand outfitter model in my 12x14 Davis Wall Tent. I absolutely love the stove... it will run and hold coals all day long, just simply open damper, add some wood and it’s back up and rolling.

It’s ability to choke down at night and idle is unbelievable good, it will keep the tent comfortable all night long...it is like my wood burning stove at home.

I’ve spent many nights, below zero, wind, snow everything and i have been super pleased compared to others I have used,

Cooking on it is also super easy, flat top and easy to adjust temperature. Over the weekend we were hunting in Arizona and my wife cooked a full on thanksgiving dinner on it.

There is a couple things I don’t mess around with anymore...and a shitty tent with no heat is one of them.... my comfort at night is top priority.

this is what you want. I have the Alaskan model. its perfect for my 10x10 and ok for my 12x14 if its above freezing. do yourself a favor and at least get the hot water tank. when you wake up in the morning to make coffee, the water will already be hot, just takes a second to get it to a boil on a propane stove or the wood stove top once a fire is lit.
Last weekend with temps in the low teens, i woke up both days at 0600 to a warm tent with a heaping pile of coals in the stove. guessing it was upper 50s inside..... water was almost boiling in the tank

I have had the stove for 3 years and used it extensively. if i need another stove i will be buying the same one again.

for your style of tent, you will probably want to add another 2-3ft of stove pipe

Cylinder stove user here as well. Used it to heat 12x17 sleeping tent before switching to a pellet burner for an all night burn. Still use the cylinder stove in the 12x12 cook tent.

We use this bad boy in a 16x32 gp medium and it will cook you out in no time. It was free we found it on garbage day.
Look on craigslist or Facebook or ask around We have come accross some decent wood stoves for cheap that people had sitting in the barn not using. Why does it have to be a special tent specific stove if your not backpacking in?there are some good ones out there just waiting to be found.

Cylinder stove user here too. Has worked really nicely for me down to 10 degrees in a 14x16 Davis.
