Here's a little show and tell of my dad and I's new rifles!

Long time hunters but never huge into the longer range game. I started dabbling in it this last year or two with buddies and quickly realised how beneficial it would be for the type of country we tend to hunt. And it didnt help it is beyond addicting... I talked my dad into taking the plunge with me so we (I) started shopping and doing some research to get a good idea of what we wanted. Originally we both were going to get 1 rifle built each but fell upon a "group" build that checked majority of our box's and was priced so well that we could swing 2.

Heres a quick layout of what we got.

We each got a 300wm and a 6.5 Prc. All 4 are basically the exact same except barrel length, Caliber, twist between the 2 different ones.

Built by Alamo Precision rifles ( APR ) outa texas.

All 4-

AG composites alpine hunter stock
APR hunter action w/ 20moa rail
APR gen2 bdl
Trigger tech trigger
Proof Research sendero carbon barrel
Area 419 hellfire brake
Flush cups, pic rail, arca rail, etc
Pure precision 35mm 1in scope rings
MK machining 35mm scope level

Differences-

300wm
26in barrel w/ 1-9 twist
Leupold mark5 hd MOA 5-25×56
Shooting berger 215

6.5 PRC
24in barrel w/ 1-7.5 twist
Leupold mark5 hd MOA 3.6-18x44
Shooting hornady eldm/eldx probably berger down the road

Might be forgetting stuff but you get the "picture"

Thanks to APR and everyone else who helped me along the way with these builds!

Here's a couple quick pics in some bad light inside...

very nice rifles! 2 matching pairs. it will be interesting to see how close the final load development comes out? I have a mk5 5-25 waiting on my 300 RUM currently getting worked on.

Good lord, I’d consider that a full send for just getting into long range. Nice rifles!

Go big or go home, right? Jk. Sorta. We dont like to do things 1/2 @$$. To some it may not be the "best" but We are very happy and The deal was very right. We hunt big steep country and push our current setups. Ive got a couple good buddies into ELR comp stuff and go out with them on occasion which started this interest. Then the last few years ive noticed more and more of these sorta setups in the areas I hunt. The success and different hunting abilities it has given them has been pretty convincing as well.

How do you like those APR actions, first impression? Haven't heard a lot about them, but interested. Good looking builds!

My dad and I also got a pair. Both 300WM. Both launch 200gr eldx (same loads) under 1/4 MOA consistently. Actions are smooth after very little break in. Both had some initial feeding issues that cleared up after less than 30 rounds

@OSU Fisher sweet looking rigs. Hope y’all push them hard and figure out the weak spots before I do lol
