I think it's only a matter of time and we can replace motorcycle with mtn bike in the statement above. There's trails (probably a whole canyon/trailhead) around here I avoid hiking because of all the downhill mtn bike traffic.
Concur, wholeheartedly. Mountain bikes and hiking is a recipe for disaster.

Just returned from Deer and Elk hunting in Idaho. Most of the hunters we met were from the 3 west coast states, a few were local or Idaho residents. All were very friendly and helpful in providing tips and knowledge of the area. All were amazed that we drove so far to hunt Idaho. We did not have ATV's but wished we did. There was 3 young men camped beside us that each shot really nice bucks. Biggest was a 6x6. They were young, in shape, and walked straight up the mountains, no ATVs. All the other hunters we saw killing deer, and using ATVs were killing smaller bucks.
