Considering upgrading. I have a manfrotto be free tripod with the before fluid head. I use 10x42 Binos and a 50mm Nikon. Sometimes a 65mm spotter. I find it a bit shaky sometimes. Mainly in the wind or if it’s fully extended.
How much more stable would an outdoorsman tripod be? Maybe just upgrade the head? Thoughts?

I have the outdoorsmans medium tripod with the micro pan head. It does great handling my Swarovski 15x56 and 65 mm spotter. I wouldn’t run anything bigger on it. It’s a very stable sit behind tripod. I’ve had mine in 30+ mph winds. If you’re looking for a stand behind tripod I would look at other options.

For stability you want to get your optics/camera as close to the apex of the tripod as possible. Center columns add instability. So you need to determine what height you need for your desired purpose. Then find one that can get close with leg height alone.

My newest tripod doesn't even have a center column.

I cannot speak on outdoorsmans tripods as I have not used one. I am thinking about grabbing their fluid head though.
