Sorry to change the subject, but what straps did you buy to separate the bag from the frame? I though I was being slick using webbing, but man it gets heavy after a few days of carrying!

It's like a dacron strap. Thin. Comes on big roll at local army surplus store. Carry buckles too. All 6 roll up in a sandwich zip lock bag. The outdoorsman pack has the frame it just needed ability to separate and haul that first load with camp back to truck. I improvised it!

great call. REI was the closest store between me and the freeway when I got my optics hunter pack and I just grabbed webbing and never really looked back till I saw your solution! Now I feel like an idiot for carrying around that extra weight for a few years . Good luck out there, these are great packs for anyone looking to buy!
