Never posted a photo on this sight before but figured this one deserved it. When I first started hunting PA whitetails almost 50 years ago, just seeing a buck was a feat in itself. But antler restrictions and management is certainly paying off. This year I harvested my largest buck ever and hit the scales a 260 lbs with 11 pts. My best buck prior to this from almost 10 years ago weighed in at 225lbs which was aa nontypical 15 pt. I dropped the cape and antlers off at the taxidermist and they aged him at least at 4 years with a good chance he may be 5 years old. He had good mass and beam length but lacked tine length to make him score really well, but still a great PA buck which will be hard to top in my remaining hunting years

Congrats man, that is a super nice Pennsylvania buck indeed! What part of the state are you in?

Agreed! Where about’s? 260 that’s a hog!

I got this guy in central PA on the 27th of Oct and he only dressed out at 140.

Congratulations on your buck, that is a true stud and certainly had more inches of antler than mine. 260 lbs was live weight....only weight loss was blood. I just rolled in with the loader tractor and scooped him up. He was extremely fat with a thick layer across his back and inside the body cavity. Stomach was filled with corn. I don’t think he had to run off much body weight in the rut because most other buck would give him a wide berth. Included a picture of my food plot of clover, beets and radish bordered by my corn field; he was well fed.
