Hi all,
I've been hunting Kodiak for several years with Muck boots, and my feet tend to get clammy, and eventually cold with all the moisture. Thinking about moving to pac boots, Schees, Kenetrek, or Hoffmans. The question I have is how the leather and hardware hold up to saltwater. I get in and out of boats along the cost frequently, any boots will see plenty of saltwater. I condition leather regularly, and heard it's also important to condition the rubber of these boots, so plan on doing that.

Do any of you have experience with the pac boots in saltwater? Any experience in hunting Kodiak with them?

Thanks!

I didn't get any response from people here, which doesn't surprise me. But I did talk with people at Hoffman Boots. They recommended the Pro Series for any saltwater applications, but admitted they haven't had that question raised before. A good leather treatment, full freshwater rinse as soon as possible after salt water, and retreat the leather after the season should help the boots last.
