Packing out an elk

I would say that it depends on how long the pack out is and how big of a elk it is. But doing it solo i'd definitely debone.

3-5 depends on the size of the animal and what lies between it and the truck.

Also, no need to train with more than 50 lbs. Your knees and back will thank me later in life.

every person's abilities are different … every place an elk dies is different … differing circumstances require versatility in thinking and planning - If I'm solo and packing an elk out I'll choose to lighten each load due to the fact that the heavier the burden the better the chances of an injury or slip - leave the "ego" at home, carry "common sense" with you at all times
