(Part 1:) My Hunting Grounds are Burning (Part 2:) Rokslider's You Can Help

I feel selfish even writing this right now as a lot of people are in dire straits. I'm Scrambling right now. As I'm sure most of you know..North Central Washington is on fire right now. We have the largest fire in state history raging in my county and neighboring counties. Had a lot of friends lose houses in the past few days. Things are pretty bad here. Had my first scouting trip for high country Mulies planned for this weekend. But unfortunately all areas around Lake Chelan (Sawtooth Wilderness) are closed, and are not opening in the foreseeable future. I'm going to an area that is open but one I'm not familiar with at all. I know it holds some nice deer, but it's going to be a gamble. Cross your fingers for my hunting partner and I..were going to scout our brains out and hope things come together come September!

Also a side note, If you have it on your mind or in your heart to donate some funds to some local charities here are some links that will help people in my area get back on their feet. These poor people have no power and a lot of them have nothing at all. Running from their homes in the late hours with just the clothes on their backs. Little kids yanked out of their beds in just pajamas to evacuate. Its looking like some of them will be out of power for at least a month. A lot have generators, but running them is expensive, around $20/Day. These are blue collar hard working folks like most of us and it's real tough for them right now. Anything at all will be appreciated beyond measure, especially your prayers.

I've witnessed alot of this devastation first hand, and let me tell you, its jaw dropping. The community of Alta Lake on the Methow River was laid low. It was horrifying to see. It looks like a fireball just ripped through the whole area.

Cool pics! I've been doing wildland fire for 10 years. Sorry for the loss in your area. It's a bummer when people's houses burn. But Just think to the future! Gonna be great hunting in a few years!

Post up some of the local gas stations. Gas cards may be one of the most important things folks can donate to help for the next month or so.

Darrington and Pateros are two of my favorite towns and both have had pretty bad years :(.

Hang in there bud.
