Crow jr very good all around blades .. don’t over look the disaster jrs .. best all around and it uses a tougher 3v steel.. I may consider selling the disaster jr all black sometime after Christmas.

Just won this Gene Ingram knife after winning my fantasy football championship. Pumped for my one on order now! 6.5” OAL and the blade is about 2.675”. Handle is Seller’s Sea Cow bone.

Will make a great Skinner/caper!

Thanks, I had no idea it was only 6.5" (that's what she said) so I felt emasculated at first. But it's a sweet little knife and a cool handle material, and of course razor sharp as it was unused.

It'll do a nice job for the precision work.

Little late to the party, and going to sound like a sales add but have to put in my 2 cents.

Years ago I wanted a nice fillet knife. I came across red rock tool out of SD, making custom fillet knives. Ended up ordering a fillet knife and was blown away by the craftsmanship. Over the next few years I ordered a number of knives from him. NOT cookie cutter customs, but designed and built how I asked, of course with his professional input. Iv been to Steve’s shop, genuinely nice guy, really enjoy doing business out him. Sadly I havnt had any knives made by him lately, not because I don’t want to, but because my wife says I don’t need anymore knives. Below I’ll throw some pics of stuff he has built me. If you want a true custom knife made, give him a call. Not many custom knife makers make a good fillet knife, his are unreal.

My favorite knife he made me: A2 steel, forged in guard, copper pins and other highlights. Best yet, I stopped at his shop after a shed hunting trip and we chose an antler for this knife based on shape and how it fit in my hand. He indexed the knife exactly how I wanted it. My wife and I found the shed used in the knife on the trip. Not just a thrown together antler handle either, metal runs the length of it and is peened in the back with bronze. Iv cut up a few deer with this, and will do more, but it’s one of few non living things in my home I can honestly say is irreplaceable. On top of that it cost what some high end semi customs cost. Note the smudges on the blades are all because they are coated in mineral oil/beeswax


A couple fillets, the small one I bought from him was my first, designed specifically for filleting panfish. Killer bluegill knife and it’s cleaned hundreds of fish. The other fillet in the picture is what he made based on what I asked; something a little longer and stiffer for crappie and walleye. The small one is stainless s35vn, the big one is W2 with a forced patina.


The last knife he made me, I sent a cutout of to him, I wanted a boning knife in A2 with a blaze matte g10 handle.


Steve is a hell of a blade maker, and a guy I’m happy to part with some cash to support. He makes a hell of a kitchen knife as well, my father has a number of his knives as well in fillet and kitchen styles, unreal craftsmanship, he won’t give them up.

where exactly is the flex in the larger knife? More towards tip or more midpoint?

It’s still a very flexible knife, I think Steve called it his medium light flex. No problem skinning bigger crappies with it. Has quite a bit of flex to it, more so it the tip and tapers off down the blade
