So I drew the Pine Valley early rifle tag in Utah this year and I'm finalizing my plans for my hunt. I live about 17 hours away from the unit so unfortunately a scouting trip wasn't an option for me. I've done about all of the escouting and research I can do and I've got a couple game plans but I figured I'd reach out on here and see if anyone has any personal experience with the unit. Thanks in advance!

I haven't been out ever before, and will be focusing on NV units this season to cut my teeth, but I would love to learn about the Pine Valley area for future years. Here for the research. Cheers!

its interesting terrain. pines, sage, juniper (they call them cedar for some odd reason), and lots of rock. I've seen plenty of deer there over the years. I've never hunted the unit for deer. As I remember it there was checker board areas of private and public land which made it a bit hard to hunt. I've hunted turkey and grouse in the unit
