For some reason I always have bad experience with Swarovski USA repair/service. Last year my ELs were sent three times to get cleaned. Two years ago my brand new Els got fungus inside just sitting at home, they were never dropper or even left my house.

This year my recently purchased SLCs 15x56 had imperfect coatings. They were sent for repair but came back with more dust inside the lenses and sticking to barrels. There are grease stains on the rubber armor now!

I am thinking that mid range options like Meopta and Vortex appear to be better in this regard because they cost 50% less and usually replace the item if they cannot fix it!

Conclusion is that check your binoculars closely before buying and dont trust the USA customer service to do a perfect job. The more they they touch it, the more they will ruin it.

If there is dust on the inside that is not right....but the "imperfections" you show on the outside of the lenses are solved by knowing how to clean them. Guys act like the coatings as magical and can not be touched. I'll straight up press my greasy thumb right on a lens at will and in 2 minutes of cleaning you would have no idea. Same with hard spots on the lens that don't wipe off with normal cleaning. A little vinegar and scratch with the finger nail followed by a wipe down you are good to go.

I wouldn't have even noticed the grease spots. Cosmetics of optics is what we are down to now? If I see someone with spotless optics I avoid them like the plague. (lenses are the exception). I'll go $1100 for the binos if still available

yes that's all i care about the dust inside but the hillbillies they hired keep damaging other things every time they take the binoculars apart.$1950 and you can have them. I paid $2300.

Jay, sorry to hear that your having trouble getting the SLCs repaired to your satisfaction. I understand it can by very frustrating to buy a premium product only to be disappointed with both the product and service. Unfortunately, it sometimes happens; and, worse yet, brand loyalists will often attempt to dismiss and troll because it didn’t happen to them. From your posts here and elsewhere it appears you’ve bought a lot of Swarovski optics. It also appears that you’ve sent several in for multiple repairs. When that happens repair personnel might just peg you as a “frequent flyer” and someone difficult to satisfy. It’s just human nature.

From what you’ve described with the 15x SLCs, I really wouldn’t be overly concerned about any cosmetic issues as they really don’t effect the product’s performance and function. So, the manufacturer might not feel that is something they are required to fix under warranty. However, if the lenses are fogging from the inside, there is visible lens damage, or there is visible debris inside of the barrels, that is simply unacceptable. Internal debris can and likely will damage lenses and other optical system components. That must be repaired or it will be the gift that keeps on giving. If you can still return them to the merchant that‘s the first route I’d take.
