portable solar panels

Thinking about picking up a solar panel to put in my pack. Just wondering if anyone has any expierience with them and if so what are your thoughts and recommendatins? Thanks for any input. I plan on making a trip to REI this Wedensday.

This really depends on where you live and where you plan to use it regularly. For example, i had one, and live here in CT and it was by far the worst purchase i have ever made. I instead bought a new trent 9900mah battery pack which allows me to recharge my batteries about 5 or 6 times in my devices. If your going to be in really open country, above treeline, desert etc then a solar charger may work for you.
