I will probably regret this but could use room in the safe. I have a pre64 Winchester Model 70 in 30Gov’t06 (30-06). This is one of the desirable transition era models and dates to 1947. Has the clamshell safety, original sights and sling studs. It is in really good condition with slight wear as expected for the age. Has an old crack repair in the fore end tip that looks to be professionally repaired. Would rather sell, but might entertain trades in large bore revolvers, older lever actions, or ?.

$1250 TYD in the CONUS. Alaska friends we will figure out cost if needed. Thanks for looking.

Can you please show pics of the crack? Any other stock cracks? Have you removed the stock to look at the inletting? Any cracks in between the mag well and trigger recess? How is the bore?

Pic number four in the original post shows it. I had the gun for a bit before I ever noticed it. Looks like someone opened up the hairline crack and inlet a piece in that shows just a little different grain. On the inside it just looks like a hairline. There are no other cracks in the mag well or trigger recess. I don’t have a bore scope but with a flashlight and naked eye it looked good for the age.

Here are a few pics I found on my phone. The crack isn’t very noticeable at all but I wanted to disclose it. I think if someone was just wanting a Pre64 for a shooter you would be very pleased with this gun. I am just having trouble getting my gun safe door closed and need to liquidate a couple.
