Price: $950

I’m selling my Pristine Ventures PR-49 packraft, which I purchased in-person from the designer Larry Bartlett in Fairbanks, Alaska in 2014. It carried me through some great adventures, but I just don’t have a good use for it anymore with the kinds of fishing and hunting I’m doing lately in Washington.

This 9-foot packraft is heavier-duty than the more common Alpacka packrafts (and heavier, about 15 lbs including accessories like pump and paddle), because it was designed to pack out one person with a caribou or half a moose on float hunts. It also lets you sit higher, on a mesh platform stretched across the top of the tubes rather than the bottom of the boat. I used it for caribou twice. It’s tough as nails—I have patched a few pinhole leaks over the years but never had a larger leak and never had a patch fail. There are no leaks right now, and it should last a long time for the buyer.

It can seat two people, or one with lots of cargo. It’s good for class I-II rapids and the occasional III with a skilled operator, depending on the load. It has a shallow draft to float loads through very skinny water.

I’m selling it with the paddle (in fine shape), air pump (works, but held together by duck tape, might need replacing), storage bag (missing a couple buckles, otherwise fine), a little portable anchor, a paddle tether, and some material for repairs (not a full kit).

This is the original PR-49, which can no longer be bought new. The current ‘HD’ version of this boat sells for $1900 new, so with this used one you're getting similar capabilities for half the price:

You can see some videos of this model in action here:

I'm willing to ship out-of-state as needed, and we can work on price depending on shipping costs.

I've attached photos from float hunts on Clearwater Creek (off the Denali Highway), the Ribdon (off the Dalton Highway), and a recent fishing trip on a secret trout stream here in WA.
