Are they comparable or is the Benro much better? I am looking at getting my first tripod setup to use with binoculars and eventually a spotter. I'm thinking the Slik Pro 634cf, one of these heads and the outdoorsmans adapter. I'm also going to get the Nikon Monarch HG to use in 10x42. Any opinions on this setup? Thanks.

Hi
You don't want the 6160 for this application. You want the Promaster SPCH20 fluid head. It is better then the Benro and equal to the Sirui VA5 at 1/2 the price, plus we give you a lifetime no fault warranty on it.
The SPCH20 is normally $89.99, would be only $74.99. We can help you with this and the Nikon as well. Due to their pricing rules please call us. We have a great promo on the Promaster XC525C tripod with both the ball head and the SPCH20, normally $389.99, on special for only $299.99

Feel free to call me with any questions or to order one.

Sorry to butt in lak but does the spch20 let you adjust the panning and have independent locks for up/down and side/side?
Btw cameraland is a great company to deal with.

Yes, it has all the controls you mentioned

Thanks for the kind words. We have sold a ton of these heads and the feedback has been terrific

I was interested in the Slik 634 because of ability to glass while standing, but the one I was looking at sold. Will the xc525 go high enough with the mentioned head? I'm only 5'10". If so I may have to go for that deal.

Yes it will, plus you have the lifetime no fault warranty and 1 leg unscrews to become a monopod.
At your height this is perfect

I have the xc525, purchased from Cameraland, and you are at the limits for standing use. You can do it, especially with an angled spotter, but with binos I wouldn't want to do it for extended periods of time. It's a great tripod and will work for standing but if you plan on using it mostly while standing there are other tripods that will work better.

I still do it with binos on occasion, I'm 6'1" by the way. I just have to spread my stance out a bit to make it work. I should also note that I have a ball head, not the panhead you are looking at so that may make a difference.
